Baseball Hall of Fame cookies are a great way to celebrate a trip to the ballpark, a great baseball season, a trip to Cooperstown, a fun week at baseball camp, any time.  Baseball Hall of Fame cookies would be a great gift for a “Hall of Fame” coach too.

Baseball Bar Mitzvah

In writing about Pathfinder Village and the Cooperstown Cookie Company‘s work to support their important efforts, I thought of how customers have featured baseball cookies at baseball-themed Bar Mitzvahs. Here’s a couple letters to share:

I wanted to let you know what a hit your cookies were at my son’s Bar Mitzvah last week! He had a baseball theme Bar Mitzvah since baseball is his passion. We were at the Cooperstown Dreams Park in July and found out about your company during our stay in Cooperstown. My son gave a speech during his Bar Mitzvah service and let everyone there know that they were going to get to enjoy your cookies and that your company donates to the Pathfinder Village. Needless to say, every cookie went!! We had both the shortbread and chocolate chip. Thanks so much for supplying us with such a wonderful treat to share with our family and friends! And thanks for donating to such a wonderful cause.

R.T. and family, Ellicott City, MD

And another from an event planner!

The cookies arrived in excellent condition, and are just perfect for the event – combining the bar mitzvah’s love of baseball (Yankees) with the family’s desire to support a worthy cause – something I try to have all b’nai mitzvah clients strive for. Many thanks to the Cooperstown Cookie Company for providing a wonderful product and a valuable service to the community.

The popular web site Mitzvah Chic has also recommended our baseball cookies, for their great taste, and our commitment to Pathfinder Village.

One, no two, Smart Cookies

One of my favorite things about this job is being able to chat with customers.

We recently held the Smart Cookie Contest, asking customers how they like to enjoy Cooperstown Cookie Company baseball cookies. It was great to read through the entries, and a challenge to choose a winner, so we chose two! This contest was a great way to start of another great baseball season. From baseball birthdays to retirement parties, baseball coach thank you gifts to corporate events, fundraisers to gifts for the baseball fan who has everything, our baseball cookies are adding a unique touch of delicious baseball fun from coast to coast.

Congratulations Mary Jo and Rosann, our 2008 Smart Cookie Contest winners. Here are the winning entries:

A Baseball-Themed Retirement Party, from Mary Jo R. in California:

My manager of 5 years was retiring and I wanted to do something extra special. That meant incorporating Cooperstown Cookies into the theme, since he had been a minor league baseball player in his earlier days and competitive always.
I ordered a wide selection of cookies plus the baseball cookie cutter and made up a basket with Cooperstown Cookies and Baseball Trivia on why he was such a “home run hitter” and how he could “round all the bases” in whatever game line up he devised within his retirement plan with his wife and family. It was unique to say the least; one of kind because of your wonderfully unique and yummy sensations and wrappings, and I hit a home run at the party! I’m pretty sure they’ve become clients of Cooperstown Cookie Company, not just for the season!
Can’t wait to use and consume your products again and again. They’re spectacular!

Thanking Baseball Coaches and Managers, from Rosann B. in New York

In our hometown there is a wonderful man, Ron Hoeltke who began a baseball league for children with disabilities in 1990. This league “Challenged Athletes Participating in Sports” has grown to serve 125 children every spring and summer. My daughter has been playing on the Yankees for seven years. We have given your cookies to Ron, the league manager, and her coach Larry as thank you gifts for giving everyone a chance to have fun! We personally have enjoyed your cookies and think your support of the bakers is wonderful.

I’ll post more entries soon! Since we couldn’t make everyone a winner, so we’re putting our popular Ballpark Bunt Box on sale through April 30.

Baseball Birthdays and the Ballpark Bunt Box

Kids love the Ballpark Bunt Box, a great party favor

We get a lot of orders for birthday presents. Some order our gift towers that combine our baseball cookies with cool t-shirts and mugs from our Baseball…Anyone Can Play gift line we created with the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

A great seller for us has also been the Ballpark Bunt Box, an animal-cracker sized box featuring nine of our bite-sized, baseball cookies (“Bunts” get it?). The Ballpark Bunt Box features a fill-in scoreboard, a picture find, trivia question, and fun illustrations. (A young friend is holding a Ballpark Bunt Box in the photo above. Kids really love ’em.) They make great favors for a baseball birthday party, or any baseball event. And, a private school in NYC ordered a bunch to use for baseball math. A delicious way to learn!

Your favorite ballpark may even be offering Ballpark Bunt Boxes for sale this year. (If not, ask them to!)

A friend suggested a great idea for a kid’s baseball birthday party. Bake up a batch of cupcakes in the birthday girl’s or birthday boy’s favorite flavor, ice them and then place a Bunt, our bite-sized baseball cookie on top. Simple and delicious baseball fun!

Hello world!

Pati Drumm Grady, Cooperstown Cookie Company Founder and PresidentHello. Here I go jumping in with my first post. I’m Pati, and keep very busy with the company I started a few years ago, the Cooperstown Cookie Company. We make delicious shortbread cookies in the shape of baseballs. My simple idea, baseball cookies from baseball’s hometown (Cooperstown, NY), has taken off. We’ve had great press, on the Food Network’s Unwrapped, Rachael Ray picked us as the “Snack of the Day” (on July 4th no less—the perfect day for cookies that celebrate the national pastime).

With this blog, I will talk about baking, celebrations, event planning, food shows as well as baseball and life in Cooperstown, NY. I also look forward to connecting to Cooperstown Cookie Company customers, and giving you updates about our business.

We have partnered with the National Baseball Hall of Fame to create a new line of baseball gifts, Baseball…Anyone Can Play. I’m really proud of this project, which features the artwork of Lonni Sue Johnson. All profits from Baseball…Anyone Can Play benefit Pathfinder Village. A special part of our business is our commitment to doing good as we do well, so I’ll also be telling you about our work with Pathfinder Village, a residential community for children and adults with Down syndrome, and Human Technologies Corporation, the nonprofit organization that packages and mails our cookie tin orders. Human Technologies Corporation is a company of diverse businesses committed to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities and others who have barriers to employment.

I welcome your comments and posts.
