I am headed to New York City to head up a team of staff and friends at the Cooperstown Cookie Company exhibit at FanFest, which is best described as a baseball themepark, with interactive displays, Major League legends, autograph signings, and all things baseball, baseball, baseball! More than 150,000 people are expected. The Cooperstown Cookie Company will be ready to welcome them with a chance to win the Ultimate Cooperstown Baseball Weekend Sweepstakes. We had a great time riding in the Hall of Fame Game parade, and handing out Classic Baseball Shortbread “Bunts,” our popular bite-sized cookies to parade-goers. The game, sadly, was rained out (hail, thunder, lightning, driving rain, it was quite a show!).

We were glad for the opportunity to talk with baseball fans at our tent in front of Main Street’s Doubleday Cafe. We sold a lot of cookies, including our Ballpark Bunt Box (now on sale) and cookie tins.

Coming to Cooperstown for the Hall of Fame Game on June 16?

The Cooperstown Cookie Company is a sponsor of the Cooperstown Game Day Parade, which means we’ll have a car full of baseball cookie fans riding in the parade, and I’ll be walking alongside, passing out treats to parade-goers. The parade starts at 12 noon, pick a shady spot along Main Street to watch the fun! The Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres will ride in the parade in trolleys. It’s a great chance to see big leaguers in Baseball’s Hometown.

Be sure to stop by the Cooperstown Cookie Company table on Main Street, we’ll be in front of the Doubleday Cafe (93 Main Street). We welcome all fans, whether you’re rooting for the Padres, the Cubs, or just want to enjoy the chance to see Major League teams compete in historic Doubleday Field. The Homerun Derby starts at 1 pm, and the game is at 2 pm.

The Baseball Hall of Fame has events throughout the weekend. The Hall of Fame Game has sold out, but the Hall of Fame says any returned tickets will be made available at 9 a.m. on Hall of Fame Game Day, June 16, in the Doubleday Field parking lot.

Hall of Fame weekend will be a good warm-up for us, the Cooperstown Cookie Company will be featured at FanFest in New York City, as part of the All-Star Game festivities. We love chatting with customers and friends, be sure to look us up.

In writing about Pathfinder Village and the Cooperstown Cookie Company’s work to support their important efforts, I thought of how customers have featured baseball cookies at baseball-themed Bar Mitzvahs. Here’s a couple letters to share:

I wanted to let you know what a hit your cookies were at my son’s Bar Mitzvah last week! He had a baseball theme Bar Mitzvah since baseball is his passion. We were at the Cooperstown Dreams Park in July and found out about your company during our stay in Cooperstown. My son gave a speech during his Bar Mitzvah service and let everyone there know that they were going to get to enjoy your cookies and that your company donates to the Pathfinder Village. Needless to say, every cookie went!! We had both the shortbread and chocolate chip. Thanks so much for supplying us with such a wonderful treat to share with our family and friends! The Cooperstown Cookie Company is committed to building awareness of and support for Pathfinder Village.

Every time I visit Pathfinder, I’m struck by the loving commitment of the staff, the joy of the people who live there, and the beautiful setting.

I am pleased that we’ve been able to help shine a light on Pathfinder Village and the important work they do. When the Food Network did a piece on the Cooperstown Cookie Company, they filmed at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and also at Pathfinder Village, which is about 20 minutes away from Cooperstown.

We’re gotten letters from customers, who have been delighted about our connection with Pathfinder and their work with people with Down syndrome. And, one of our best customers, the New York Yankees, made a donation to Pathfinder when they placed a custom order of our baseball cookie favors. The order of 2,400 baseball cookies was packaged at Pathfinder Village. This connection resulted in the New York Yankees making a $3,000 donation to Pathfinder Village.

We are also proud of our work with Human Technologies Corporation, the nonprofit organization that packages and mails our cookie tin orders. Human Technologies Corporation is a company of diverse businesses committed to enhancing the quality of life for people with disabilities and others who have barriers to employment.

Did you catch the May issue of Family Circle? In an article titled “Have a Ball” the Food News editors highlight our “baseball-inspired” treats. We’ve been getting lots of calls and orders from Family Circle readers, we’re so glad for the opportunity to reach out to new customers and friends. One of my favorite things about this job is being able to chat with customers.

We recently held the Smart Cookie Contest, asking customers how they like to enjoy Cooperstown Cookie Company baseball cookies. It was great to read through the entries, and a challenge to choose a winner, so we chose two! This contest was a great way to start of another great baseball season. From baseball birthdays to retirement parties, baseball coach thank you gifts to corporate events, fundraisers to gifts for the baseball fan who has everything, our baseball cookies are adding a unique touch of delicious baseball fun from coast to coast.

My manager of 5 years was retiring and I wanted to do something extra special. That meant incorporating Cooperstown Cookies into the theme, since he had been a minor league baseball player in his earlier days and competitive always.
I ordered a wide selection of cookies plus the baseball cookie cutter and made up a basket with Cooperstown Cookies and Baseball Trivia on why he was such a “home run hitter” and how he could “round all the bases” in whatever game line up he devised within his retirement plan with his wife and family. Thanking Baseball Coaches and Managers, from Rosann B. in New York

In our hometown there is a wonderful man, Ron Hoeltke who began a baseball league for children with disabilities in 1990. This league “Challenged Athletes Participating in Sports” has grown to serve 125 children every spring and summer. My daughter has been playing on the Yankees for seven years. We have given your cookies to Ron, the league manager, and her coach Larry as thank you gifts for giving everyone a chance to have fun! We personally have enjoyed your cookies and think your support of the bakers is wonderful.
